US Army award is Brite Star in FLIR Systems' portfolio of high-definition sensor turrets

Article Abstract:

FLIR Systems have contracted on 11 July 2006 by Bell Helicopter to provide Brite Star II sensor turrets (known as the Target Acquisition Sensor Suite or TASS) for the US Army's new Armed Reconnaissance Helicopter (ARH-70A) and is one of the major US government contracts received by the company as the US Army prepares to procure 368 ARH-70As. The company has showcased its two new sensor turrets, the Star SAFIRE Quantum Well Infrared Photodetector (QWIP) and the STAR SAFIRE HD/1K at the 2006 Farnborough air show.
