USA scouts Black Sea bases

Article Abstract:

The announcement by the US Undersecretary of Defense for Policy stating that US troops could be removed to Romania from elsewhere in Europe has raised concern over the strategic importance of the Black Sea region to the USA. WashingtonEs interest in starting negotiations with Romanian authorities on the possibility of redeploying US forces is mentioned.

Romania creates new counterterrorism unit

Article Abstract:

Romania has adopted a US Special Forces Model in order to be fully compatible with NATO and multinational operations in terms of organization, capabilities and equipment. Romania will be involved in development of the SF Battalion and take part in the efforts to support the global war on terrorism.
