Article Abstract:

Lockheed Martin's new modernized C-5M Super Galaxy strategic airlifters would help ensure the USAF's (US Air Force) ability to move massive amounts of cargo in a cost-effective manner till 2040. The aircraft, converted from a C-5B, has undergone the Avionics Modernisation Programme (AMP) and the Reliability Enhancement and Re-engining Programme (RERP) phases of the upgrade, and this technology provides the USAF with powerful fuel-saving engines and higher aircraft availability.
