USMC takes delivery of datalink-equipped Litening pods while Australia places order

Article Abstract:

The US Marine Corps (USMC) have received 17 new 'plug-and-play' AN/AAQ-28(V)4 Litening AT (Advanced Targeting) pods from Northrop Grumman's Defensive Systems Division (DSD) of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, and the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) has announced an order for 37 Litening AT pods to equip upgraded F/A-18A Hornet fighters. The USMC's new pods enable it to adapt its current Litening pods and datalink capabilities to specific missions without the need for aircraft modifications.
