USMC to test solutions in SV 04

Article Abstract:

The United States Marine Corps (USMC) would seek solutions to problems identified during operations in Iraq and Afghanistan in the Sea Viking 2004 (SV 04) warfighting experiment to be conducted in September 2004. SV 04 would consist of a command post exercise to examine new C2 (command and control) concepts and relationships and a live field exercise to look at advanced operational concepts and experimental technologies.

Experimental radio test in Iraq

Article Abstract:

The Expeditionary Tactical Communications Systems (ETCS), a product of the US Marine Corps (USMC) Warfighting Laboratory (MCWL), is being operationally tested in Iraq. The ETCS was developed to overcome shortfalls in USMC mobile Over-the-Horizon (OTH) communications identified during the invasion of Iraq and to support the emerging Ship-to-Objective Manoeuvre (STOM) doctrine.

USMC expects its first Assault Breacher Vehicle by year-end

Article Abstract:

The article discusses the Assault Breacher Vehicles (ABVs) that is based on re-roled surplus General Dynamics Lanc Systems M1A1 Abrams main battle tank (MBT) chassis. The U.S. Marine Corps plans to acquire the ABVs by the end of 2007 that would enhance counter mobility.
