Unit designations in our new modular Army

Article Abstract:

The results of an ongoing process, and the unit designations that would be employed to embody the US Regimental System battalion are described. Although, there are changes with respect to equipment and force mix, there is no particular logic for changing naming conventions, thus, the battalion can retain its name, linage and honors, and can consist of lettered companies, and numbered platoons.

The Army and humanitarian relief

Article Abstract:

The Army and the humanitarian relief were provided to hurricane Katrina devastation affected victims at a larger, faster and more comprehensive extent, than ever before in any natural calamity. The presence of army in humanitarian relief has became more evident after the World War II by the aid of civil defense and during these period relations between state and local officials was prominent.

Army Reserve medics-Serving at war

Article Abstract:

Army Reserve soldiers, which make up more than 65 percent of the Army's medical force, work as medical professionals during peacetime, and provide their highly specialized skills during the war. Army Reserve forward surgical teams that maneuver with the infantry brigades throughout the combat zone, save lives, rescue limbs and preserve the eyesight of injured personnel on the battlefield.
