Uniting Russia's nuclear forces

Article Abstract:

Russia's military strategists are mulling the creation of a fourth military service that will be responsible for the country's nuclear assets. The proposed service, tentatively called the Strategic Deterrent Forces, may also eventually have the country's space and orbital assets under its jurisdiction. The creation of a new service has been a contentious issue within the military, although political forces have also been playing a role.

Although Russia is not going back to the same trend of the 1990s, the killings in Russia have demonstrated how violence is still seen by many as a useful business tool.
