The US Army Communications-Electronics Command Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate is engaged in a number of programs aimed at improving night-vision sensors while also lowering their cost, size and power consumption.

Viper strike and Eagle Eyes introduced to the BAT submunition family

The US Army and Northrop Grumman are pursuing derivatives of the BAT anti-armor subunition with alternative guidance packages.Viper strike is a semi-active laser (SAL) seeker, while Eagle Eyes refers to the P31 (preplanned product improvement) BAT and the Multi-Mode Seeker BAT.

Pathfinder system takes a step forward

Article Abstract:

The proposal from Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (LMMFC) to offer the Modernised Pilot's Night Vision System (M-PVNS) from the Arrowhead system for cargo/utility helicopter use has taken a step forward in 2006. Arrowhead is in production for the US Army's AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopters, ordered for the British Apache Longbows and selected by the Dutch for their AH-64Ds.
