Washington report

Article Abstract:

Republicans Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins issued statements in the US Congress stressing the need for two ship yards in the US, and arguing that Hurricane Katrina which devastated much of the Gulf Coast and ravaged Northrop Grumman's Ingalls shipyard in Pascagoula underscored the need to maintain the nation's two major shipyards. Snowe and Collins argue that natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina are one of the main reasons for maintaining two shipyards.
