Moviegoing and gole-making: The case of Blade Runner

Article Abstract:

Ridley Scott's Blade Runner self-consciously explores affinity between the matter of the android and the subject of the cinema. This golem movie is an artistic depiction of a man's struggle to reconcile crass mechanical limitations with noble human affections and is also a mechanical production that inculcates into its viewers cliches reducing behavior to predictable patterns.
