The Irvine wives

The main reason why the Spectrum business park in Irvine, CA, is attracting so many companies is extremely thorough planning. The park forms just one element of the extremely large 'Master Plan' drawn up by the Irvine company, a private developer with control over a fifth of Orange County, in 1966. This company has shown great attention to detail in planning shops, houses and other facilities close to its three successful business parks. The ordered environment of the Spectrum business park was initially particularly attractive to Japanese companies, but US companies are now enthusiastic about it too.

Peter Andrew Hall, 1936-1996
Article Abstract:
Peter Hall, who died Dec. 1996 is remembered as a folklorist, musicologist and teacher who had an encyclopedic knowledge of the social customs, songs and stories of the north-east region of Scotland. Hall was a renaissance man shared a great love of the arts. A research fellowship at the Elphinstone Institute of the University of Aberdeen has been established in memory of Hall.
