3 jailed for tax evasion on mine deals

A Superior Court judge in Quebec has sent three men to jail for tax evasion in connection with the Val d'Or gold mine in northern Quebec. The case, which included a $5.1 million fine, was filed under the Income Tax Act.

Agnico-Eagle's LaRonde Mine falls short of firm's expectations

Agnico-Eagle Ltd.'s LaRonde Mine in Quebec produced less gold than was expected for the 2002 fourth quarter. The mine produced a record 75,236 ounces for the quarter.
