Jean Chretien's Liberal government intends to void the Tories' Oct 1993 airport privatization plan through legislation, but critics charge that the anti-privatization bill denies due process to aggrieved parties. Opponents of the bill want a formal study of the privatization, prior to any repeal.

The media tends to focus on the animosity between the federalists and the sovereigntists in Quebec, but in reality, most Quebecers are fairly civil to each other on the issue. Quebec politicians tend to be friendly to each other, no what their position on the issue is.
