A new kind of software company for India; turning analysts' heads while turning only $15 million in sales

Article Abstract:

Bangalore, India-based Mind Tree Consulting is a computer software concern which hopes to translate itself into a company that builds and designs sophisticated computer networks for its customers. The company may be able to make the leap with partners Ashok Soota and Subroto Bagchi at the helm. They plan to have sales of $231 million by 2006, with three percent of after-tax profits going to primary education in India. The company has contracts with Lucent Technologies, BP Amoco and Avis, but will not go public until it has 100 clients.

In Europe, Rising Euro Gathers Much Angst

The euro is trading at $1.30 against the U.S. dollar, up 7 percent over the last two months. The European economy has slowed down to 0.3 percent growth in the third quarter, but some economists believe the higher euro will encourage consumer spending.
