Alcoa to expand smelter

Alcoa Inc. announced that it will invest 1 billion Canadian dollars for the expansion of its aluminum smelter near Quebec City, Quebec. The smelter's capacity will be increased from 250,000 tonnes per year to 570,000 tonnes per year.
