Fliers shy away from US Airways

Article Abstract:

US Airways Inc's labor problems are causing passengers to steer away from the carrier. The carrier, the No. 6 airline in the country, promised to shut down its operations while the 9,800-member flight attendants' union threatened to stage a strike on Mar 25, 2000, if a labor contract is not signed by that date. US Airways said that the plan to shut down is a move to prevent travellers from experiencing massive inconvenience, not to punish the flight attendants.
