Canada's Finance Minister Donald Mazankowski previously predicted that the budget deficit would be reduced, but his predictions have been wrong. The difficulties in believing his future predictions are further exemplified by a report that presents a dismal economic future for Canada.

The Royal Bank of Canada published a report that concludes that a divided Canada will suffer economically. Conservative estimates of the economic effects of a separate Quebec are presented. Quebec will likely separate from Canada if the new constitution is not approved.
