An urgent call for a lot more fun

Canadian politicians should hold leadership conferences at the same time and attendance should be open to the general public. The conferences should be patterned after the Olympics to help infuse life into the politicians who face public scrutiny for their lack of knowledge on public concerns.

Why should television control elections?

Federal campaigns in Canada are now largely run by strategists who are trying to optimize television coverage. This has created dull, sound-bite driven political events. It would enliven the campaign if candidates attended more live rallies and impromptu events.

The time has come for a new breed

Article Abstract:

Canada's political system is in disarray and needs to be completely redesigned. Instead of implementing another round of budget cuts, every department and office should be forced to justify its existence. A leaner government would more efficient.
