Are youth curfew laws constitutional?

Article Abstract:

Proponents of juvenile curfew ordinances say the laws are necessary to reduce crime and protect teenagers. A U.S. Court of Appeals found that a Dallas curfew law satisfied the state's interest in this regard. Those opposing curfews say that a parental responsibility should not be turned over to the government. The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia found a D.C. curfew law unconstitutional because it did not differentiate between juveniles who were unlikely to cause harm from those who were likely to cause problems.
