Armchair brigade goes in

Article Abstract:

A tongue and cheek look at the bombing of Serbia by NATO forces. NATOs intentions to unnerve the Milosevic dictatorship have Milosevic taking to Russians about purchasing more weapons. The Serbs are described as tenacious warriors who vigorously fought for both sides during World War I. And US President Clinton is portrayed as a man who considered the ramifications of involvement in the Balkans and concluded he could always blame Madeleine Albright.

Son of return to the Balkans

Article Abstract:

The conflict in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, has not ended simply because the major warring parties have agreed to stop fighting. The Kosovo landscape contains many mines that must be cleared. Populations and economies will have to be rebuilt. President Milosevic may or may not maintain his position. Many of the underlying reasons that led to war still exist.

Son of the Howard doctrine

Article Abstract:

This article focuses on Prime Minister John Howard's doctrine, enunciated with regard to the crisis in East Timor, that Australia should act as deputy to the US in Asia. The article argues facetiously that this may alter Australia's relationship with Asia. Relevant points include the effect on relations with Indonesia and other nations to the north.
