Ford paints itself as green

Ford Motor Co will be the exclusive advertiser in 'Time' magazine's special edition celebrating the 30th anniversary of Earth Day. The automaker is also buying all the ad space in a 'Time for Kids' special edition called 'Heroes for the Planet - Around the US, Kids Work to Defend the Environment.' Company chairman William Clay Ford Jr is an enviromentalist.

Audi's emotional ads steer off the beaten path

Article Abstract:

Audi of America Inc's lyrical 'Street Sign' advertising campaign has ranked high in consumer polls, with 22% liking the ads immensely, of which 23% are women. The ads have been conceptualized by Raleigh, NC-based advertising agency, McKinney and Silver. Their effectiveness in catching the attention of the viewers may be influenced by the emotional dimension added to these Audi ads.

BMW drives into new ad world: PC mini-film

Article Abstract:

BMW has launched the newest form of advertising from Madison Avenue, a mini-movie. Madonna';s film is the latest chapter in 'The Hire,' a serial of 6- to 7-minute films from BMW showing at bmwfilms.com. BMW recruited A- list Hollywood directors such as Ang Lee, John Frankenheimer and Guy Ritchie to direct the films that star actors such as Mickey Rourke. Ritchie's film, 'Star,' with Madonna, is the fourth in the series that opened Apr 26, 2001.
