Article Abstract:

Fairlight Instruments, known as an innovator in digital audio technology, in 1988 was forced to go into liquidation as a result of a venture to finance its global expansion. David Hanney purchased the company for about $350,000. The company was renamed Fairlight ESP (Electric Sound & Picture). By 1992, the company had its first product, a digital audio editing console. Over the next several years, the company has opened offices in the US and other major countries and its generating significant profit, with overseas business constituting 90% of its revenue.

Courses are delivered completely over the Internet at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Such programs are beneficial to students who work and are students only part-time. University study can be cold and uninviting for such academics. Lecture notes and assignments can be downloaded off the Web site and E-mail submissions from tutorial discussions are part of on-line education.

As more people turn to the Internet to shop for a new car, the traditional car salesman could become obsolete. Large automobile manufactures are creating complex, sophisticated Web sites in the hopes of cutting marketing costs.
