Battling the banks: a David takes on the financial world's Goliaths

Article Abstract:

Michaud won a judicial decision that will force the Royal Bank of Canada and the National Bank of Canada to permit shareholders to vote on issues such as executive salaries and membership to the board of directors. The Quebec Superior Court ruled on Jan 10, 1997, that shareholders have the right to propose resolutions.
