Beetle mania: the VW Beetle is back, targeted at the young rather than the nostalgic

Article Abstract:

Volkswagen introduced its new VW Beetle at the Detroit car show and the company is launching an aggressive advertising campaign. Volkswagen hopes this car will be a big seller among younger buyers looking for something different. The big three automakers in the U.S. also introduced their new line of cars. Chrysler introduced its version of concept cars. Ford showed the Cougar coup. GM introduced its line of high technology and eco-friendly vehicles.

Article Abstract:

Rolls-Royce has launched a brand new model called the Silver Seraph, which replaces the Silver Spirit. The engine is built by BMW, which breaks Rolls-Royce's long tradition of building its own engines. The reason for such a change in tradition is cost, according to chief executive Graham Morris. The company wanted to either change the body or the engine, but it decided to change both.

Sex drive is mutual

Article Abstract:

The automobile industry has always looked upon women as a sub-segment when designing cars. In the 1990s, women's socio-economic status has made car manufacturers more responsive to their needs. A survey among British women showed that women consider engine power, safety, and reliability as the main factors when purchasing a car.
