Major proposals to reform social security

Article Abstract:

Proposals to reform Social Security are designed to eliminate the funding gap that the program would likely face over the next several decades as baby boomers begin to retire. Plans to privatize Social Security will supplement the current system, which pays guaranteed benefits, with a voluntary system enabling workers to shift part of their pay-roll contribution into government-managed personal investment accounts.
