Bowing to the mighty Ayatollah

Article Abstract:

An extremely learned Shiite cleric, Ayatollah Sistani who could not be subdued by either Saddam Hussein or other fellow Ayatollah's may well be the one man who could ensure that the America installed government in Iraq is seen as legitimate. The cleric's authority is however threatened by the radical activist Moqtada Al-Sadr who has asked his followers to take the path of armed resistance and with America looking for legitimacy in the region they may be hoping that the cleric's edict runs through the country.
