A cancer in decline: diet change and rectal examinations pay off

Article Abstract:

Colon cancer is the third most lethal of the cancers. In 1997 in Canada, 16,400 people may be diagnosed with it. But colonoscopy, a diagnostic method used to study colon polyps, gives a pre-cancer diagnosis. Although it may have a genetic base, colon cancer risk is deceased through low-fat diets.

Machines with vision: Canadians are creating sophisticated robots

An increasing number of Canadian university and private industry researchers are working in the field of robotics. They are attempting to develop robots that have advanced sensory systems. Support for this research is coming both from government and non-profit associations.
