CBS' Net investment

CBS Inc will get a 50% interest in StoreRunner.com, a shopping Web site, and a 35% interest in Hollywood.com, an entertainment Web site, in exchange for around $200 mil in advertising and promotions. The transactions boosted CBS' expansion effort into the Internet business. According to company's CEO, Mel Karmazin, CBS is considering sale of its radio assets to compete with Broadcast.com. CBS acquired on Apr 12, 1999, KTVT, a TV station in Dallas, TX, from Gaylord Entertainment for $485 mil.

IVillage raises IPO share price

Article Abstract:

Internet company iVillage of New York, NY, has raised its IPO price from $12-$14 a share to $22-$24 a share. The company operates a network of sites targetting women with chat rooms and chanenels covering topics such as family, health, work, money, food, relationships, shopping, travel and pets. iVillage, which posted a loss of $43.6 million on revenue of $15 million in 1998, is offering a total of 3.5 million shares.
