Chretien should come clean on Quebec

Article Abstract:

Chretien has refused to comment on what the Canadian government plans to do if the Oct 30, 1995, referendum on Quebec independence is approved. His Labor Minister Lucienne Robillard said the government would honor the results, but it is Chretien's duty to address this issue directly.

Brian Mulroney survived many controversies during his two terms as prime minister. Poor public opinion of his many risks in policy changes helped Mulroney decide to resign. His style and attitude helped him stay in power for almost nine years.
