Class action: fighting homophobia in school

Article Abstract:

Although initiatives to fight racism and sexism have received widespread support since the mid-1980s, most programs intended to fight homophobia in the schools have met stiff resistance. Several such programs are described including the Triangle Program, which provides alternative education for gay Toronto teenagers.

Dialling for dollars: cash-strapped schools turn to the private sector

Article Abstract:

Tuition has soared an average of 40% at Canadian colleges since 1993, so many colleges and universities are turning to alumni and corporations to raise funds for programs and student aid. Some people worry that schools are becoming too dependent on private funding sources.
