Clean-up time

Article Abstract:

Executives of top moneymaking companies receive large salaries, but take stock options, prompting questions as to the corporate purpose of this practice. Options are supposed to be incentive pay, but executives already own billions of dollars worth of stock. Michael Dell of Dell Computer owns $16.4 bil of his company's stock, but has $33.5 mil in options. Some executives, like Oracle's Larry Ellison and Microsoft's Bill Gates, didn't take any options in the Mar, 1999, proxy filing.
