McGill University scientist Sigried Hekimi is conducting research on tiny creatures called nematodes that may shed some light on the aging process. Calvin Harley's research on telomerase could lead to treatments for cancer and age-related illness. Eating less may also slow the aging process.

Nuclear mausoleums: two scientists fear that buried radioactive fuel might explode

Researchers at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, led by Francesco Venneri and Charles Bowman, have advanced a theory that nuclear waste stored underground might be prone to explosive fission reactions. The theory is highly controversial in the nuclear power industry.
