Colt limits public handgun sales

Article Abstract:

A slew of lawsuits against the gun industry has prompted Colt Industries Inc to reduce handgun sales to the public. The firearms manufacturer has informed its distributors that it will drop seven lines of consumer handguns that it considers unprofitable. According to 'Shooting Industry' magazine editor Russ Therman, the firm will no longer sell its renowned Colt .45 to anyone other than military and law enforcement agencies. The decision will mean that roughly 300 workers may lose their jobs.
