Court rejects ouster of Stelco directors

Article Abstract:

Roland Keiper and Michael Woollcombe, who were dismissed from the board of directors of Stelco Inc., by Judge Farley of the Ontario Superior Court, will be reinstated after the ruling issued by the Ontario Court of Appeal. Other Stelco stakeholders had opposed the appointment of the two directors since together they represented twenty percent of Stelco's shares, and so fearing a battle they had gone to court. The appeal court stated that Judge Farley was not authorized to intrude into a company's restructuring process.
