Article Abstract:

New Orleans, in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, is a cesspool that poses numerous hazards, including outbreaks of Hepatitis A and E. coli, and the disjointed nature of the relief effort only compounds the crisis. The brutal realities of the health crisis will linger for weeks to come as civic and medical personnel struggle with the problems of contaminated water and dysfunctional hospitals.

Battling the Aryan Brothers

Article Abstract:

Prosecutors are trying to break up a vicious Aryan Brotherhood prison gang that protects white inmates and sells heroin and meth. Barry Byron Mills started the Aryan Brotherhood gang in the California prison system in the mid-1960s and he runs a nationwide extortion and drug trafficking enterprise from behind bars with about 100 to 200 members.
