Crude breaches $30 (U.S.) on inventory worries

Article Abstract:

Industry analysts said that U.S. gasoline reserves have reached low levels, contributing to rising crude oil prices. Crude prices, which surpassed the benchmark $30 per barrel level, were given a push by the recent report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration on summer travel and low gasoline inventories.

OPEC aims to keep oil prices high

Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) would keep oil prices at their highest level in a decade on 10 February 2004 by cracking down on quota busters even as it tries to placate Western consumer nations by holding the line on its formal production limits.

Ease smog rules or gas prices rise, oil giants warn

Article Abstract:

The Canadian Petroleum Products Institute has warned the government that air pollution regulations must be eased to stave off hikes in gasoline prices. The Canadian government has ordered the petroleum industry to reduce sulphur levels in gasoline by over 90 percent.
