Curbing CEO pay: Is CEO pay in the United States out of control?

Article Abstract:

A debate is presented regarding whether CEO pay in the U.S. is out of control. Opponents state that CEOs are overpaid relative to their individual contribution to the company, along with their pensions and perks being underreported, and pay-for-performance targets hidden from shareholders. However, advocates argue that there is a direct correlation between levels of pay, market increase and shareholder returns.
