Voters not blaming politicians for higher oil prices

Article Abstract:

Overheated oil prices are not being blamed on politicians. However, Pres Clinton's decision to release 30 million barrels of oil from the STrategic Petroleum Reserve is seen as politically motivated aimed at helping his vice president's campaign. Aides at the White House called it a prudent move to ease the shortage of oil supply. A poll showed that the potential for hardshipp due to the higher prices for gas or home heating fuel in the winter of 2000 could be a cause for concern for voters.
