Depression among southern rural African American women: a factor analysis of the beck depression inventory-II

Article Abstract:

The factor structure of the Beck Depression Inventory-II is determined using data collected from the southern rural African American women. The factor analysis of the Beck Depression Inventory-II resulted in a two-factor solution that explained symptoms such as pessimism and worthlessness loaded high on the first factor, cognitive, and the second factor explained somatic-affective symptoms of depression.

Knowledge of symptoms clusters among adults at risk for acute myocardial infraction

Article Abstract:

The study aims to use Q methodology to identify the cluster of symptoms that individuals at high risk for acute myocardial infraction and their significant others believe to be associated with acute myocardial infraction. The Q methodology concluded that people with known coronary artery disease and their significant others had varied expectations of acute myocardial infraction symptoms.

Treatment-seeking delay among women with acute myocardial infraction: decision trajectories and their predictors

Article Abstract:

Women's delay in seeking treatment for acute myocardial infraction symptoms results in higher rates of mortality and morbidity for women. Decision trajectories used by women when experiencing symptoms of acute myocardial infraction is described and also predictors of decision trajectory used by women with acute myocardial infraction is identified.
