Three Canadian companies have come under international scrutiny for their diamond operations in civil war-torn Sierra Leone. The companies, DiamondWorks Ltd., AmCan Minerals Ltd. and Rex Diamond Mining Corp., have been criticized in a new report by the Canadian government and Partnerships Africa Canada.

A new report from the Canadian government and Partnership Africa Canada alleges that Canadian diamond companies may be contributing to civil war in Sierra Leone by dealing with mercenaries selling diamonds. The report is critical of Rex Diamond Mining Corp., DiamondWorks Ltd. and AmCan Minerals Ltd.
