Prospectors and mining companies registered over 110,000 claims for mineral rights after Diamond Fields Resources Inc discovered high-grade ore in Voisey Bay. Diamond Fields Co-Chmn Robert Friedland faces the challenge of overcoming a poor reputation resulting from a failed mining project.

The partnering of Olympia and York Developments Ltd (O&Y) executive Paul Reichmann and Prince Al-Waleed of Saudi Arabia could lead to the buying back of the Canary Wharf commercial development site in London. O&Y, the site owners, had gone bankrupt in 1992.
