Four software products for planning road trips were tested. Microsoft's Automap lacks detail but it easy to use and offers colorful pictures. DeLorme's Map'n'Go offers good detail and listings of restaurants and hotels, but is cumbersome. Rand McNally TripMaker and Key Travel Map were less useful.
