Dollar climbs on weak U.S. currency

Industry analysts said that the strong Canadian dollar may be rising due to U.S. monetary policy whose goal is to aid the slow U.S. economy by weakening the U.S. dollar. The Canadian dollar reached 72.48 cents (U.S.) as Canadian financial officials considered cutting interest rates.

Rising loonie seen hurting tech firms

Article Abstract:

The increasing strength of the Canadian dollar could have a negative impact on technology and software firms in Canada. Many of these companies pay their salaries in Canadian dollars and earn much of their revenues from the U.S.
