Some of the successful stock portfolios are discussed which suggest that investors need not be overly concerned about the recent market shakeout, as there are plenty of oil and gas stocks that offer buying prospects. Drillsearch (DSL) was knocked down from a 2006 high of 20.5 cents to as low 16.5 cents, but the company prospects are more robust due to high oil prices and greatly expanded exploration program.

The All Ordinaries reached a record high of 4255.8 on 21 March 2005 representing a gain of 5% in the index since the beginning of the year 2005.
