Errors said to cause most Net security threats

Article Abstract:

Totonto, Ont.-based IDC Canada Ltd., which surveyed 200 Canadian companies, found that approximately 75% of the firms believe that Internet-based security problems are related to employee errors rather than deliberate crimes. IDC also found that 80% of the companies with Web operations have never experienced a hacking attempt.

Meg Whitman, the chief executive officer at eBay Inc., has reported that an estimated $716 in goods are bought and sold every second at the online auction company. EBay has built a new customer support facility in Burnaby, British Columbia.
