Ex-manager rolls out barrell business

Article Abstract:

Okanagan Barrel Works was established by Cal Craik in 1998 following his resignation from the beverage company where he worked as business development manager. While he was looking for other business opportunities, he found out that nobody in British Columbia was marketing barrels to the region's rising number of wine makers. He then went to secure a distribution rights to barrels made by Demptos Napa Cooperage and thereafter, partnered with businessman Christopher Scott to start the business. The partnership blossomed into a firm that now sells oak barrels as well as a line of juices, kits and equipment designed for home wine makers.
