Riverfront projects rev up Windsor

Redevelopment has continued from 1993 through 2000 in Windsor, Ontario, and will not cease in 2001. A new casino, a new courthouse and, now, the DaimlerChrysler Canada headquarters building are changing the landscape of the area.

Firms pays premium to be on green fringe: SAS institute opts to say downtown and build its own 'green' head office

Article Abstract:

SAS Institute (Canada) Inc. is bucking the trend by building its Canadian head office on the edge of downtown rather than in a business park in Richmond Hill, Markham, Mississauga or another location. There was a price to pay for staying downtown, and for incorporating a number of 'green building' bells and whistles.

Title insurance has become a growth industry in Canada for both commercial and residential properties, as it protects buyers and lenders from potentially disastrous ownership issues. It is reported that last year 2003, one firm sold 530,000 title insurance policies.
