Fixing urban schools: Poor in school

Article Abstract:

Urban sprawl and relocation of whites to suburbs led to the concentration of the minorities and the poor in urban areas, increasing the burden on urban schools. Poverty-related learning deficiencies of students, parental discouragement of poor students, and regulations and economic barriers limiting urban school resources are among the major issues confronted by urban schools.
