'Goblet of Fire' blazes a trail of record sales

Scholastic is having 2 million more copies of 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire' printed after distributing most of the record 3.8 million copies produced from the first printing. The children's book, written by woman author J.K. Rowling, has broken all kinds of records including the transformation of a book launching affair into a day when the most popular item was a book. Bookstores have reported that the overwhelming public response to Rowling's novel is unprecedented.

Jaw-dropping tech toys coming to a child near you

Article Abstract:

Technology companies are expected to introduce their high-technology toys on the 2nd week of Feb 2000, at the International Toy Fair in New York, NY. Some of these toys include K'nex Industries' CyberK'nex, Intel Play's Computer Sound Mopher and Digital Movie Creator, Lego's MindStorms Vision Command System and Fisher-Price's still unnamed robotic dog. Toys much- awaited by educators are those from Neurosmith, which introduced Music Blocks in 1999.
