Great expectations

Article Abstract:

The XVIIIth Commonwealth Games 2006 at Melbourne had some world-class performances, but the broader competition was not world-class, and not of the hyped quality. These Games were weighed down by false expectations, tickets were unsold partly due to the non-participation of stars, but one could have enjoyed the Games if one had not assumed anything and attended without expectations.
